Medical College Admissions Test MCAT

In addition to having a bachelor degree in science, students applying to study medicine in the USA need to take the Medical College Admissions Test MCAT which is a strict admission prerequisite and is required prior to submitting the admissions application to any USA medical school.

The MCAT is a standardized test for students who wish to study medicine in the USA to become medical doctors. Students wishing to study medicine in the USA or Canada are required or strongly recommended to prepare and take the MCAT test as almost every medical school in the USA requires the MCAT test results as part of their admissions process. The MCAT is an exam which assesses students’ knowledge of sciences, critical thinking and analysis skills.

There are separate standardized exams for dentistry and optometry: Dental Admission Test (DAT) and Optometry Admission Test (OAT).
