Studying medicine or dentistry in Australia (MBBS)

Students who wish to study human medicine or dentistry in Australian universities must take the following study route. It is essential requirement that students prove that they have the ability to study medicine or dentistry in English. Australian universities accept IELTS 6 or the TOEFL equivalent as evidence of the student ability to study medicine or study dentistry in English.

Getting into university to study medicine or dentistry is highly challenging and requires students to study a foundation year and achieve very high grades in their final result which is 95% as an average.
In addition to the medical foundation year students must also study the ‘International Student Admissions Test for medicine and dentistry (ISAT). To stand a good chance of place on a medical degree or dental degree in Australia students must achieve high marks in ISAT test.

After completing and passing the Foundation year and the ISAT, students who achieve high grades will be invited for interview by the university. Following the interview the university will either accept or reject the student.
