Degree abbreviations
Academic degree titles and professional degree titles or degree abbreviations are position before or after the degree discipline depending on the university or college awarding the degree.
As an example the DSc and ScD are the title for the higher doctorate in science degree. On the other hand some degrees of the same discipline may have different degree titles depending on the awarding university or college, for example BS and BSc are used by different universities for the Bachelor of Science.
There are various conventions for indicating degrees and diplomas after one's name. In some cultures it is usual to the use or display of the degree titles differs from culture to culture for example in some countries only the highest earned academic qualification is displayed while in others the sequence of all academic and professional qualifications is displayed.
There is no standard and universally agreed degree title or degree abbreviation list, and therefore degree titles differ slightly from study destination and granting institution such as university or college.
